This piece had what I call a "walnut" appear when the forearm was bandsaw trimmed. I decided to see how deep it went into the forearm because it did not show in the barrel channel. A small part of the blemish remains with still some wood to be removed. The black streak is not a crack, but the surrounding wood is hard similar to a knot with a burl type grain. I believe it will make a fine fullstock rifle or a half stock.

The C-wt. barrel channel is 1 1/16" at the breech and could be opened up for a large halfstock straight or tapered barrel
